Working during ADE 2026 is one of the easiest ways to earn extra in Amsterdam this autumn. From Wednesday 21 to Sunday 25 October 2026, the city becomes the capital of electronic music. During Amsterdam Dance Event, hotels are fully booked, bars and restaurants stay open late, and every extra pair of hands counts. Want to earn extra this week? Now is the time.

Why ADE is so busy for hotels and hospitality
ADE brings visitors from all over the world to clubs, conferences and events across the city. The City of Amsterdam has even designated ADE week as a peak period: indoor events may run until 8 a.m. That means full hotels, early breakfast services and night shifts that finish later than usual.
Which shifts are available?
- Housekeeping: many guests check in and out at the same time, so rooms must be ready fast.
- F&B and service: breakfast, lunch, room service and hotel bars run at full capacity.
- Front desk and night reception: guests arrive at every hour of the night.
- Kitchen: independent cooks and kitchen assistants for breakfast and banqueting.
What will you earn?
At Recolo you work under the ABU collective labour agreement for temporary workers. You earn at least the Dutch minimum wage of €14.99 gross per hour (since 1 July 2026, age 21 and over) plus holiday allowance. In most cases you receive the same pay as the hotel’s permanent staff, including evening, night and weekend allowances where the hotel pays them.

Tips for working during ADE
- Plan your journey home. Many shifts end late at night or early in the morning. Check the night buses or plan your bike route before your first shift.
- Rest before you start. ADE week is intense. Sleep well between shifts so you stay sharp and friendly with guests.
- Be on time and dressed right. Ask us about the dress code of the hotel or restaurant beforehand, so you can walk straight in.
- Stay calm when it gets busy. Guests arrive tired or excited. A smile and a clear answer go a long way.

After ADE: keep working flexibly
ADE kicks off a busy season. December brings Christmas dinners, company parties and full hotels around New Year’s Eve. If you start now, you are first in line for those shifts.
Many people who start working during ADE stay with us for the rest of the season. Some combine shifts with their studies, others build towards a permanent role in a hotel. Whatever you are looking for, we help you find work that fits your schedule.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to speak Dutch?
Not always. Many hotels serve international guests and have international teams; English is often enough. We ask which languages you speak when you sign up.
Do I need a work permit?
EU/EEA and Swiss citizens can work in the Netherlands without a permit. You do need a BSN (citizen service number).
Can I work only during ADE?
Yes. You decide when and how much you work, and you are welcome to stay on after ADE.
